Venue: Stadio Via del Mare
Judi Bola, Mpobos.com- Lecce appeared too passive in the first part against Bologna and was completely overrun deserving surely to concede more than once back in that period.
The guests continued being better in the second too, scoring two more goals and practically feeling very confident about the outcome of the match.
Lecce woke up towards the end and almost managed to get completely into the game thanks to late goals from Babacar and Farias.
However, there was no time for something more. Overall, neither they actually deserved this time, simply appearing unexplainably passive comparing to guests at the first halftime.
This was the third match without a victory for Lecce, as the side stands above the relegation zone before the start of the new round with a point more than relegating Brescia and surely close to a must-win situation ahead of this one.
They are yet to win in front of own fans, having four draw matches and four losses, playing far better for the moment on the road.
Left-back Calderoni (16/3) is suspended for this one. Injured is right back Meccariello (6/0), while doubtful are midfielder Imbula (3/0) and defender Fiamozzi (11/1).
Udinese finally broke a run of five winless matches in Serie A, as the side won at home against Cagliari with a 2:1 result.
They simply exploited the circumstances far better, as Cagliari tried via ball possession, but this time, the visitors weren’t anywhere close to a creative side they usually were so far in the season. The hosts have taken the lead in the 39th minute via De Paul, in quite a passive first halftime.
The second one wasn’t much more interesting either, but the guests tried to risk more, getting the equalizer in the 84th minute but conceded again with a lack of concentration in the next minute via Fofana. It was a bit lucky victory for Udinese too, as the side really created little this time.
Thanks to this important victory, they now stand four points above the relegating worried Brescia ahead the start of the new round.
The guests only miss defender Samir (10/0) for this one.
Udinese have scored at least 2 goals in 5 of their last 6 away matches against Lecce.
Neither of the teams is impressing in recent matches actually, but passive approach and inferiority of Udinese in their games away from home are making me leaning towards Lecce in this one.
Additionally, it’s the home team that has better and more concrete solutions in the attack.
