Venue: Estádio Municipal de Braga
Judi Bola, Mpobos.com- Braga made a huge surprise last Friday night, as the team managed to get a victory away from home against Porto with a 1:2 result.
They made a great entrance into the match taking the lead via Fransergio in the sixth minute already, as the rest of the halftime belonged to the hosts who even missed the penalty kick.
The second halftime wasn’t that one-sided one, even though it was the home team that had more of the ball possession. Once again they missed the penalty, with the guests surely having some luck during the match too, but also being effective in attack and sealing the victory with a goal from Paulinho in the 75th minute.
On the other side, their defense simply didn’t allow too much chaos at the back. They are now fifth at the table, having just four points less than third-placed Famalicao and that’s the position the team aims till the end of the season for sure.
Galeno, Paulinho and Eduardo should lead the attack of the home team in a version of a 3-4-3 formation. The hosts have no fresh injury worries for this one.
Sporting didn’t answer properly against Benfica last Friday night, disappointing their fans in a 0:2 home loss.
The first halftime didn’t look that interesting, with both teams having only some chances and sharing the ball possession equally.
However, it looked like the home team tried to attack in the second and maybe risked more knowing their quality, while the guests were those who looked like slightly more experienced side and were scoring goals.
Firstly via Silva in the 80th minute, then with his second goal deep into the added time. The game could have ended differently for sure, but only in case, the hosts reached the goal first. Sporting now remained at the fourth position with two less than third Famalicao and two more than fifth-placed Braga.
The Lions should continue in a version of a 4-3-3 formation with Bolasie, Phellype, and Camacho as forwards. Goalkeeper Ribeiro is likely to get back into the team for this one. Defender Coates is back after suspension. Forward Vietto (15/3) is doubtful.
So deep into the competition, competitive motive can’t be questioned here. Braga seems quite confident at the moment and is a team that shows a lot of aggression in the defense, but also creativity in the ball movement.
Sporting comes from a difficult match and this one shouldn’t be any easier either, especially not since Braga seems improved in the attack.
